چکیده
Abstra ct. Lat t ices of coup led maps on t he in terval are used to test some ideas of Y. Pomeau concerning estimates of the numb er of degrees of freedom per unit leng th of a spatia lly in coh erent system . Qualitative agreement is found between dimension densit ies obtained using two-point measurements at separ ated lat t ice p oints and dimension densities obtained using spati al decay of the correlation function.

Statistical conservation laws in turbulent transport.
We address the statistical theory of fields that are transported by a turbulent velocity field, both in forced and in unforced (decaying) experiments. With very few provisos on the transporting velocity field, correlation functions of the transported field in the forced case are dominated by statistically preserved structures. In decaying experiments we identify infinitely many statistical cons...
متن کاملEulerian statistically preserved structures in passive scalar advection.
We analyze numerically the time-dependent linear operators that govern the dynamics of Eulerian correlation functions of a decaying passive scalar advected by a stationary, forced two-dimensional Navier-Stokes turbulence. We show how to naturally discuss the dynamics in terms of effective compact operators that display Eulerian statistically preserved structures which determine the anomalous sc...
متن کاملTransitions to electrochemical turbulence.
We report experimental evidence of transitions from limit cycle oscillations through a phase turbulent regime to space-time defect turbulence in a spatially (quasi-)one-dimensional electrochemical system with nonlocal coupling. The transitions are characterized in terms of the defect density, the Karhunen-Loève decomposition dimension, and a measure of the degree of spatial correlation in the d...
متن کاملInvestigating the Longitudinal Optical Conductivity in Three-Layer Graphene Systems with Composes Mono-Bi-Bi and Bi-Mono-Bi and Bi-Bi-Mono
The longitudinal optical conductivity is the most important property for graphene-baseddevices. So investigating this property for spatially separated few-layer graphene systems analytically and numerically is the main purpose of our study. Each layer can be mono- or bi-layer graphene. The density-density correlation function has been screened by the dielectric function using the random p...
متن کاملDerivation of turbulent energy of fiber suspensions
The energy equation for turbulent flow of fiber suspensions was derived in terms of second order correlation tensors. Fiber motion of turbulent energy including the correlation between pressure fluctuations and velocity fluctuations was discussed at two points of flow field, at which the correlation tensors were the functions of space coordinates, distance between two points, and time.
